MailChimp Integration

If you’re already using Mailchimp to run advanced emailing campaigns, you’d probably love this extension. You can easily synchronize all your lists(Contacts), Campaigns between Mailchimp and Simply CRM with only just one click.

The whole synchronization process is as simple as that!




Installing Mailchimp Extension


Mailchimp extension can be found in Module Manager. You’ll need to install the extension before getting started. The process is simple and straight-forward.

Follow few simple steps to install Mailchimp plugin in simply CRM

  1. Click Setting.png gear icon in the top right
  2. Click CRM Settings
  3. Click ‘Studio’ drop-down in the left
  4. Click Module Manager. You can click on PinIcon.png pin icon next to it to add a shortcut to your settings home page
  5. Click Import Module button in the top right
  6. Locate MailChimp extension and click Install button next to it

After successful installation, you can locate MailChimp under ‘Other Settings’ Block in CRM Settings. You will have to have a MailChimp account to synchronize your email campaigns from simply to MailChimp and vice versa.

Generating API key


API key acts as a bridge to establish a connection between simply CRM and MailChimp. You’ll need to generate API key from your MailChimp account, and integrate in your Simply CRM account.

  1. Follow these guidelines to generate API key from your Mailchimp account
  2. Click Setting.png gear icon in the upper right
  3. Click CRM Settings
  4. Click ‘Other Settings’ drop-down in the left
  5. Click MailChimp. You can click on PinIcon.png pin icon next to it to add a shortcut to your settings home page
  6. Click Edit
  7. Paste API key
  8. Click Save

Synchronizing Lists and Campaigns


To avoid confusion, Lists are termed as Contacts in Simply CRM. You can synchronize your Simply CRM Contacts and Campaigns with Mailchimp. Contacts will be synchronized as Lists in Mailchimp, and vice versa. You can only synchronize Campaigns from simply to Mailchimp but not the other way around.

Follow few simple steps to synchronize your Lists / Contacts, and Campaigns

  1. Click Campaigns. You can find it under All drop-down
  2. Click on any existing Campaign record, or Create a new Campaign
  3. To the left side of detail view of Campaign record, under MailChimp drop-down, click Fetch lists from MailChimp button

4. Select desired list to sync from the drop-down, and click Synchronize Now button

5. After synchronization, the count of records successfully synced on both ends is displayed

Notes!

  1. If you would synchronize the Lists to which emails had been sent earlier, the emails will also be attached along with the contact record in simply CRM. You can find those emails in Emails section in detail view of that contact record.
  2. You can run an email campaign in MailChimp on campaigns synced from Simply. Interestingly, upon syncing same campaign record again in Simply, the campaign reports generated in MailChimp are automatically updated in Simply.
