We, at Simply, try our best to make sure that you make most out of email campaigns to grow your business. In compliance with the anti-spam laws, we have made it mandatory for you to insert an unsubscribe link in the email templates. Let your customers decide whether or not to receive emails from you. After all, unsubscribing is the best possible way for your customers to express unwillingness and opt themselves out from the existing emailing list. If not, they may tend to doing something perilous such as reporting spam which is unhealthy for your email campaigning.

Here’s what to do to insert an unsubscribe link in your email template

Unsubscribe link in existing email template


Inserting an unsubscribe link in an existing email template is so simple. After you provide campaign details, select subscribers, in the third step i.e., Select Template, you’ll need to select desired template and click Next button. If your email template doesn’t have an unsubscribe link, we will insert one in the bottom-left of your email template.

1. You’ll see the following screen when you click on Next under Select Template tab

2. After clicking on Ok,Thanks, an unsubscribe link is automatically inserted in the bottom-left of your email template.

3. You can proceed to next step but if you’d like to replace the position of the unsubscribe link, you can do that, too. You can copy and paste the unsubscribe link in desired location within your email template.

Adding unsubscribe link while building email template from scratch


We ensure that emails that you send are fruitful for you and your customers. In the email campaign, if the selected email template doesn’t have the unsubscribe link, we are inserting one automatically. If you are well aware of this fact, we will recommend you to insert an unsubscribe link yourself right when you create email templates.

Inserting an unsubscribe link manually is so simple. Here’s how to do it

  1. Click Email Campaigns tab. You can find it under All dropdown
  2. Click Email Templates tab in the sidebar in the left
  3. Click Add Email Template
  4. In the Creating Email Template view, click on link LinkIconEC.png icon

5. Clicking on link icon brings up a popup. In the popup, provide the following details under the Link Info tab
a. Link Type: URL
b. Protocol: http://
c. URL: unsubscribe/

6. After providing the details, click OK

An unsubscribe link is automatically copied to your email template. You can also cut and paste the link in desired location within the email template

Changing the text around unsubscribe link


You have your own style of designing your email templates. While you build your email template, you can have the unsubscribe link match your requirements.

Here’s the default unsubscribe link offered by Simply CRM. You can change the text around it according to your requirements.

Here’s how to change the text around the unsubscribe link

  1. Select the unsubscribe text area

2. Click on ‘Replace’ icon, highlighted below

3. Now provide desired text in text-area provided in Replace with field and click Replace All

4. Now the updated unsubscribe link is displayed to your email recipients.
