Setting up Phone Calls with Plivo
Step 1: Signing up for Plivo
In order to use the Phone Calls module with Plivo, your company has to first sign up for an account with Plivo. We have provided easy to follow documentation to sign-up for Plivo account.
Step 2: Install Phone Calls module in Simply
Phone Calls module is not readily available in Simply. It has to be installed manually to get started with the module. Follow these simple steps to install the module.
- Step 1: Go to CRM Settings -> Module Manager.
- Step 2: Click on Import Module.
- Step 3: Click install under Phone Calls.
Step 3: Configure your Plivo credentials in Simply
After registering with Plivo, you will be provided with phone number, application id and auth token. Follow few simple steps to configure these in Simply CRM.
1. Login to your CRM instance and click on icon on the top right corner of the CRM.
2. Click CRM Settings.
3. Click Phone Calls under Integration in Settings sidebar.
4. Click on Add Gateway.
5. Select Plivo from the dropdown.
6.Configure Auth ID, Auth Token and other setting parameters.

Note!
1. Find your Auth ID & Auth Token in your Plivo account dashboard.
2. Callback URL should be same as the one configured in Plivo account.
3. Welcome Message is to configure the message that you would like your customer to hear before call is transferred to the support members.
4. Recording allows administrator to either enable or disable call recording.
7. Click Save button.
Step 4: Configure the extension number for each user
For each user who is allowed to handle incoming and outgoing calls from the CRM, the extension number should be configured in the User preferences page.
1. Open My Preferences.
2. Configure user number in CRM Phone Extension field under “More Information” block.
Number formats:
For SIP Endpoints: sip:EndPoint_USERNAME@phone.plivo.com
e.g., sip:test12344333@phone.plivo.com
Note!
You can find your SIP URI under Endpoints tab in your Plivo account.
For Regular Numbers: [+][County_Code][Number]
e.g., +91 01 233456789
Warning!
Do not configure your Plivo number as it would result in looping the calls.
Once configuration is completed on both sides i.e., Simply and Plivo, you are now ready to make and receive calls in the CRM.
Configuring Simply specific settings in Plivo
An account has to be created in Plivo and on registering, you can configure SIP endpoints for the account. This endpoint has to be configured with the callback URL.

Follow few simple steps to configure your Plivo account.
- 1. Login in to your Plivo account.
- 2. Click on Applications tab in the Plivo dashboard.

- 3. Click New Application button.
- 4. Copy & Paste the URL from Callback URL field which is present in the Simply Phone Calls Settings

Note!
1. Copy & Paste the CallBack URL from Simply Gateway settings in the highlighted boxes.
2. HTTP method should be POST (as shown in the image) for the url.
3. Make Sure the 3 checkboxes( Default number app, Default endpoint app, Public uri) are ticked.
- 5. Click on Create.
- 6. Click on Endpoints tab to setup SIP endpoints.

- 7. Click New Endpoint button.
- 8. Enter the credentials which you prefer and select the application name that was created in the above steps for “Plivo App”.

- 9. Click on Add button.
